London or LA for a young musician?

18, living in norcal right now (sacramento), and I need a drastic life change. I’m a singer/songwriter with a jazzy blues style and I can’t decide between moving to LA or London. I want to start performing and getting out there more. I like that LA is the entertainment capital of the world, but I’m not too into the trendiness and conceited people. I love that living in London would allow me to travel all over Europe, but I just want to hear opinions on the music scene in both places and the best place to get out there, be heard, and build a fan base.

it’s OK dreaming of London, but what about the practicalities … how are you going to get a work permit in order to stay here and work … or are you planning on coming on a holiday visa and working illegally
